Frog's Support for News

Web To News

Intro

The WebToNews is a by-product of the tool (Dnews) that I am now using to inject posts.
Running a full-fledged free WebToNews is *not* my purpose,
so the capabilities have been seriously tweaked according to my goals and policies.

You just have to point your web browser to http://frogadmin.yi.org/cgi-bin/dnewsweb.exe on port 80.
No authentication/password is required, but capabilities are restricted.

Caution could/should be exercised:
To avoid any potential identification by me,
I strongly recommend the use of some 3rd party WWW anonymiser.

Reading Capabilities (AAM)

It is possible, but I don't really encourage such use.
Why don't you use the NewsServer? (info on capabilities there too) .

Reading Capabilities (APAS)

It is possible, but I don't really encourage such use.
Why don't you use the NewsServer? (info on capabilities there too).

Reading Capabilities (Other NG)

I don't take *any* suck from *any* other NewsGroup I care telling you.
As a onsequence, the NewsGroups will exist, but they will be mostly empty.
The only posts showing will be the ones injected through Frog's mail2news capabilities.
The reading capabilities for groups other than apas/aam are hence limited to
---checking the list of newsgroups supported my the M2News
---checking if a specific post got injected to the M2News (track your post)
For both those uses, the WebToNews is more convenient than the NewsServer.

This is where I most strongly recommend the use of some 3rd party WWW anonymiser
to avoid any potential identification by me.

Posting Capabilities (AAM, APAS)

This is possible, but I don't encourage it, neither on WebToNews or NewsServer

Posting Capabilities (Other NG)

This is prohibited, on both WebToNews and NewsServer

Filtering

As exposed paragraph after paragraph, my NewsServer does not hold whole usenet! same as on NewsServer
